This colorful South Dakota maple leaf was one of the last pieces I painted in 2025. I painted her in the month of December amongst all of the chaos and cheer of the Christmas season. That’s how she got her name. What drew me to this particular leaf was the abundance of color within her. I see red, orange, yellow, green, cream and brown. The background is a neutral tan, as not to take away from the natural beauty of the leaf.
