You’ve got questions.
I’ve got answers.
Where do you find your inspiration?
I do a lot of walking. I have three dogs that require an abundance of exercise. We walk rain, snow or shine and typically get about 15k steps in a day. That being said, I spend a lot of time outdoors observing all the things - leaves in particular. All the leaves that I paint are based on actual leaves that I pick up on my walks around both my Sioux Falls, SD and Fort Worth, TX neighborhoods.
Are the leaves life size?
Yes, all the leaves that I paint are life size! They are the actual size and shape of the leaves that I use for inspiration. I try to replicate the leaf as closely as I can because who am I to mess with the beauty that Mother Nature creates?!
Can I send you a leaf to paint?
Of course you can! I would love to paint a custom piece for you!
Do you sign your artwork?
Yes! I title, sign and date the backside of every piece that I paint.
Is your artwork ready to hang?
Yes! Every piece of artwork is ready to hang. All pieces, aside from 5x5 pieces, are wired to hang flush to your wall. Artwork in 5x5 size have a sawtooth hanger.
Would you be willing to share more photos or videos of a piece?
Absolutely! Just ask! Sometimes the colors in certain pieces are hard to photograph. Extra photos and videos can really help you to see the piece in a different light - literally.
What does the red heart on the back of your paintings mean?
On the back of every piece that I paint, you will find a red heart. That heart is a way for me to honor my incredible dad, Marty Rickers, who passed away on August 18, 2023. He had a heart of gold and was always one of my biggest supports. The red heart is a way to take my dad along with me on my artistic journey.
