Pompeii

$325.00

This piece, titled “Pompeii,” traces back to our walk through the ancient Roman city once sealed beneath 13 to 20 feet of volcanic ash when Mount Vesuvius erupted in 79 AD. I’ve been drawn to Pompeii since childhood—captivated by the way an entire community was paused mid‑life, its ordinary moments preserved in extraordinary stillness.

The leaves in this painting echo that feeling for me. They carry their own quiet histories, layered and half‑revealed. Some stories are easy to uncover, while others stay out of reach, preserved in the parts of the past we can’t fully access.
