I didn’t realize Italy was one of Europe’s leading peach producers until I looked it up, but the country had already been quietly telling me so. All throughout our trip - especially in Capri - I kept spotting peach trees tucked into the landscape. During the Monte Solaro chairlift ride in Anacapri, drifting above the island’s highest point, I noticed whole clusters of them below me. So when I began imagining the fruits for my “Italian Collection”, the peach rose to the top almost immediately.
