This was painted in honor of my Grandma Dorthy (aka: Dot). I have a picture of her from when she was little girl standing in a cluster of beautiful and tall hollyhocks. Everytime I see a hollyhock, I think of her. Hence the name of this piece - Dot’s Spot. I love the texture this piece contains and the bright red flowers against the crips blue sky. It’s fresh, clean and bold.
