The original oak leaf I replicated for this piece was sent to me by my sister in California—where the name “Cali” comes from. I was immediately drawn to how beautifully weathered and distressed the leaf is. The holes, the mold, the signs of age—all of those so-called imperfections give it incredible character.
To me, this piece is perfectly imperfect. It would make a sweet addition to a gallery wall, a shelf, or an end table, and she comes ready to hang or stand—however you choose to display her.
