"Assisi" is inspired by our visit to the ancient hilltop city, still enclosed by its intact 14th-century defensive walls. What stayed with me most were the stone buildings, the steep climbs, the history layered into every turn, and the views that seemed to stretch forever. These leaves came from a tree I noticed while walking through the city (pictured in the photos).
Our time in Assisi was brief but meaningful and this painting is a way of keeping those moments close.
